Trade82 may receive information from support emails, counterparties involved in an order, public business websites or official sources used for verification, and payment or security providers that provide legally permitted fraud and risk signals.

Where processing is based on consent, consent may be withdrawn prospectively. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
6. Public Information and Counterparties
Information a user publishes may be accessed, copied, indexed, or stored worldwide. Removing a public listing may not immediately remove search-engine caches or copies previously saved by third parties.
When a user starts an inquiry, RFQ, quotation, order, or shipment, Trade82 may provide the other party with company and contact information, messages and attachments, transaction terms, shipping details, and information needed to perform or document the transaction. Each user is responsible for protecting information received from a counterparty and using it only for the relevant business relationship and lawful purposes.

8. GitHub
Trade82 uses GitHub for source-code and change management. The current architecture is intended not to transfer or store production user records, private uploaded documents, payout account information, database dumps, or secret keys in GitHub.
Users must not place personal information, private documents, credentials, API keys, or banking information in a public GitHub repository, issue, pull request, or public developer discussion. If personal information is mistakenly committed, Trade82 may restrict access, clean history where appropriate, rotate credentials, and take incident-response measures.
9. International Transfers
Trade82 is operated from the United States. Information may be processed in the United States and in other countries where its providers and subprocessors operate.
Transfers occur when a user registers, signs in, visits the site, uploads content, sends messages or email, uses payment, order, shipping, or payout features, and may occur continuously or as needed through encrypted network connections, provider APIs, and payment or banking networks.
Where required, Trade82 and its providers use contractual terms, standard contractual clauses, data protection addenda, consent, or another lawful transfer mechanism. Refusing transfers required for core infrastructure or a requested transaction may prevent Trade82 from providing authentication, storage, payment, email, or other essential functions.
10. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Trade82 and its authentication and payment providers may use:
- Clerk authentication and session cookies, such as session and clientuat;
- essential infrastructure and security cookies;
- Stripe-domain cookies required for Checkout and fraud prevention; and
- local storage used for language, theme, or essential session state.
These technologies are necessary for sign-in, authentication, security, fraud prevention, and payment. Blocking them may prevent sign-in or checkout from functioning.
Trade82 does not currently use cookies for personalized advertising or cross-site behavioral tracking.
11. No Sale or Targeted Advertising Sharing
Trade82 does not currently:
- sell personal information for money;
- rent personal information;
- share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising; or
- use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics for advertising profiles.
Allowing authentication, hosting, storage, payment, and email providers to process information to perform their services is not intended as a sale. If this practice changes, Trade82 will provide any notice, consent, or opt-out required by law before the new processing begins.
12. Retention
Trade82 applies the following retention criteria:
- Account, profile, company, and product information: while the account or company profile remains active, followed by review of deletion, de-identification, and legal exceptions after closure.
- Verification requests and documents: for the period necessary to review, reverify, prevent fraud, and address challenges, then deleted or access-restricted when no longer needed.
- Inquiries, RFQs, quotations, messages, and attachments: for the business conversation; records not connected to a transaction are generally retained for up to three years after the last activity, while transaction or dispute records follow the transaction period.
- Orders, payments, refunds, disputes, shipping, payouts, and audit records: generally up to seven years after the transaction closes, or longer when required by accounting, tax, anti-fraud, limitations, or other law.
- Security, access, and error logs: generally up to twelve months, longer when connected to an actual or suspected incident, fraud, dispute, or legal hold.
- Support records: generally up to three years after closure.
- Consent records: as needed to establish consent and withdrawal.
- Backups: information may remain for a limited additional period in encrypted backups and is overwritten through normal backup cycles. Backup information is generally used only for restoration, security, or legal preservation.
Deletion may be limited while a legal obligation, dispute, fraud review, payout, refund, chargeback, or legal claim remains open. When retention is no longer necessary, information is deleted or de-identified using reasonable methods.
13. Security
Trade82’s current design includes:
- Clerk authentication and session management;
- role, company-ownership, and administrator authorization checks;
- server-side access control and API validation;
- rate limits on sensitive write operations;
- private storage and time-limited signed file access;
- application-level encryption and masking of payout account numbers;
- financial and administrative audit events;
- encryption in transit;
- separation of production secrets from source code;
- separation of public listings from restricted records; and
- backup and recovery procedures.
No online system can guarantee absolute security. Users should protect their accounts and promptly report suspected account or email compromise.
File type, size, and access checks may be used, but Trade82 does not guarantee that every uploaded file receives complete malware scanning. Users should independently scan untrusted attachments.
14. Security Incidents
When a suspected or confirmed personal information incident occurs, Trade82 may investigate, restrict affected access, rotate credentials, cooperate with providers, preserve evidence, notify affected people or authorities when legally required, and take steps to prevent recurrence. The timing and contents of notice depend on the incident, likely harm, and applicable law.
15. Privacy Rights
Subject to applicable law, a person may request:
- confirmation and a copy of personal information;
- correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
- deletion or de-identification;
- restriction of processing;
- objection to certain processing;
- withdrawal of consent;
- data portability;
- information and human review concerning automated processing;
- opt-out from a sale or targeted-advertising sharing, if such processing exists; and
- non-discrimination for exercising privacy rights.
Requests may be sent to contact@trade82.com. Trade82 may verify identity, authority, and account ownership. A request may be limited to protect other people, satisfy legal retention, preserve security and fraud controls, comply with tax or accounting obligations, or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
16. Korea
To the extent Korean privacy law applies, users may request access, correction, deletion, suspension, and withdrawal of consent. Information relating to Korean users may be processed in the United States and other provider locations to provide essential infrastructure and requested transaction functions.
Trade82 will apply notices, contractual protections, consent, and other safeguards required for applicable overseas transfers. Korean users may also seek assistance from the Personal Information Protection Commission, the Personal Information Infringement Report Center, or the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee.
17. EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland
Where applicable, Trade82 processes personal data on the basis of contract, legal obligation, legitimate interests, or consent. Legitimate interests include security, fraud prevention, support, audit, and protection of legal rights.
People in these jurisdictions may have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection, withdrawal of consent, and complaint to a supervisory authority. Transfers to the United States may use standard contractual clauses, a UK transfer addendum, or another lawful safeguard where required.
Trade82 is not designed to make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects solely through automated processing. Recommendations, matching, and risk signals support information and operations, and significant verification, account, and transaction actions may be reviewed by a person.
18. California and Other U.S. States
To the extent a U.S. state privacy law applies, residents may have rights to know categories, sources, purposes, recipients, and specific information; to correct, delete, or obtain portable data; to opt out of certain processing; and to avoid discrimination for exercising rights.
Trade82 does not currently sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Accordingly, there is currently no sale or advertising-sharing transaction to opt out from.
Trade82 may verify the identity of a requester and the authority of an authorized agent.
19. Children
Trade82 is a B2B service and is not intended for anyone under 18. If Trade82 learns that it has improperly collected personal information from a person under 18, it will delete or restrict the information unless retention is legally required.
20. Third-Party Links
The Service may link to government agencies, certification bodies, logistics providers, banks, sellers, buyers, or other external sites. Those entities apply their own privacy practices. Trade82 does not control the privacy or security of an external service.
21. Legal Disclosure, Protection of Rights, and Business Transfers
Trade82 may disclose information as reasonably necessary to comply with law, subpoena, court order, or lawful government request; investigate fraud, security, crime, sanctions, or policy violations; protect life, safety, property, or legal rights; obtain legal, accounting, insurance, or audit services; resolve disputes; or evaluate a merger, asset transfer, investment, restructuring, or business succession.
If a business transfer occurs, personal information may be transferred subject to this Policy and applicable law. Material changes will be communicated as required.
22. Changes to This Policy
Trade82 may update this Policy to reflect changes in the Service, providers, law, or processing. Material changes may be communicated through the website, account notice, or email, and the “Last Updated” date will be revised. Separate consent will be obtained before a change when required by law.
23. Languages
The English and Korean versions are intended to have materially the same meaning. If they differ, the interpretation required by mandatory law applicable to the relevant person and processing will control.
